Pinewood Futures Festival

This past weekend, Clear Angle was delighted to take part in the inaugural Pinewood Futures Festival, the largest free careers event for aspiring Film and TV crew in the country. Along with some of our esteemed neighbours here at Pinewood, as well as other companies and organisations from across the industry, we had the opportunity to meet with hundreds of 14-22 year olds over the two days and discuss with them our role in the VFX pipeline.

With representatives from all of our capture teams, two LiDAR scanners, a roundshot, our drone, the brand new and upgraded prop scanning system and our old friend ‘Scantonio Vanderas’ (the XM-series full body scanning system), we could talk them through not only what we do here at CAS, but share our experiences in the wider industry, hopefully providing some useful knowledge that they’ll be able to employ on their journeys.

If we saw you at the weekend, thank you for coming to speak to us, we really enjoyed meeting all of you and we wish you the best of luck in the future. Hopefully we’ll bump into you again on a film set somewhere soon. We’d also like to thank Pinewood, especially Dan Burton for all his efforts, as well as the team from MBS and everyone else who helped organise the weekend. Events like this are so important for the health and prosperity of our industry and we’d love to take part in similar events in the future, including, hopefully, Pinewood Futures Festival 2023.
