The VCR captures dynamic, nuanced performances that bypass traditional CG pipelines to achieve instant photorealism. What used to take months of manual cleanup and shading in post-production is now a direct leap from ‘Real’ to ‘Sim,’ providing high-fidelity datasets in a fraction of the time.
A result of the collaborative research between Clear Angle Studios and PRISM AI, the VCR is designed primarily with 4D gaussian splats in mind, the rig is also perfect for avatar creation, 2D sprites and machine learning datasets.
While the VCR is built for the high-intensity demands of modern film and game pipelines, the need for realistic 4D spatial data is becoming more essential across all industries.
From creative media to advanced technical research, the VCR provides ground-truth data for any application where realism and efficiency are the primary drivers of success, without the cost of heavy post-processing.
Like many of our systems, the VCR is entirely modular, allowing it to be reconfigured for any capture scenario – from extreme close-up details to wide-angle performance volumes. Cameras can be redistributed depending on the requirements of the shot, meaning resolution is always optimised for what you’re trying to achieve.
Lighting is determined by the project; flat white light to allow re-lighting in post, RGB light for HDRI reprojection, or even a camera-only array shoot with production scene lighting.
Operating at up to 60fps across a high-density camera array capturing 6k resolution imagery, the system generates a massive throughput of raw information, purpose-built for the next generation of neural rendering.
Our development and integration in this space isn’t new; it is the culmination of over 13 years at the forefront of spatial data and SfM capture, providing a foundation of precision that newer systems simply cannot match.
